Literacy Musing Mondays Linkup: Meet Leah

We’re so thankful that you are joining us again at the new and improved Literacy Musing Mondays. Last week we met new host Brandi Raae, and today I am equally thrilled to introduce our other new host, Leah.

Hi, I’m Leah, a homeschool mom of four children who loves reading and blogging and…did I mention reading? I’ve been homeschooling for almost fourteen years now, and I’m very close to graduating my oldest daughter! I’ve been blogging since early in my homeschool days, but my early blog posts were just journals of what was happening in our homeschool- so everybody in the world could see that we built the Great Pyramid with Legos that day. Woohoo!

In more recent years, I’ve tried to make the blog a place where other homeschool moms can go to find information and encouragement. I still share things we’re doing in our homeschooling, but I also try to answer questions that other homeschool moms might have and give away free resources that I think other homeschoolers can use. I’ve also recently published my first eBook all about homeschool lesson planning. I love to create unit studies that I share on the blog, and I’ve compiled thirty-one of them into a book form.

I’m looking forward to joining with the other hosts to bring your Literacy Musings Mondays linkup each week because reading and literature is my special passion- as a reader myself and as a homeschooling mom. I’m looking forward to reading your great posts and getting to know some of you as we share our posts.

You can visit me on the blog -As We Walk Along the Road- at I’d love for you to stop by and say hi!

Be on the lookout for a new blog button and “I’ve been featured” button coming soon!

Last Week’s Top Clicked Post!

 I’m Throwing in the Towel

By My Upstate Life

The author gives an honest review of this book, and discusses why she couldn’t finish it. It is refreshing to know that sometimes, we all find books that we don’t enjoy and want to throw in the towel over them? What is the most recent book that the author couldn’t finish? Head over to the blog post to find out!

My Favorite Post of the Week:

Stop Writing Research Papers! Write for Wikipedia Instead

By Homeschool Base

Helping kids write for Wikipedia sounds like a great homeschool project (or supplement to any school) to me!

Linkup Rules:

  1. Include a link back or the blog hop button linked to this hop on your posts.
  2. Link up the urls to your posts not to your blog.
  3. Please remember this is a family-friendly linkup. Although we believe in the right for adults to read whatever they want to read, we prefer to read wholesome posts that feature literature that edify and uplift families. We reserve the right to delete any posts that are not family friendly. We love all kinds of literature and genres including family-friendly inspirational romances, fantasy, or science fiction. We do not welcome any posts that feature excessive violence, sexual content, or any cursing. This rule also applies to book review posts that feature books that are not family-friendly. These posts will be deleted without notice to the blogger or explanation. While we believe in the right for all adults to read whatever they want, we feel our linkup is for family-friendly posts only. Thank you for understanding.
  4. We also want to be loving community by supporting one another. Please make a point to do this this week! Visit the two posts before yours and at least one other blogger’s post of your choice! I want to see lots of clicks on everyone’s posts. Remember it is also nice to follow them on their social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
  5. Follow your hosts and co-hosts on their social media.
  6. Tweet about the link up too.
